Sage & Sun Yoga Studio A quiet, intentional yoga practice for people who want to slow down.

Yin Yoga in Austin

A slow, floor-based practice of long-held, passive postures that targets connective tissue and quiets the nervous system.

Yin Yoga is the slowest practice on our schedule. Postures are held for three to five minutes at a time, almost always on the floor, with props supporting the body so muscles can fully release. It's less about strength and more about patience — a counterbalance to a fast-moving day.

What We Offer

  • A 60-minute class built around five to seven long-held postures
  • Props (bolsters, blocks, blankets) used generously to support every shape
  • Guided breathing cues to help the mind settle during each hold
  • A slow pace suitable for every body, including tight hips and stiff shoulders
  • A short guided relaxation at the end of class

How to Book a Class

Book your spot through our online schedule, choosing any Yin Yoga slot that fits your week. Since postures are held so long, arrive a few minutes early to get settled with props before class begins. Expect to be on the mat for the full 60 minutes.

Pricing

A single Yin Yoga class is $26. Class packs and monthly memberships bring the per-class price down, and your first class is free.

Questions

Is Yin Yoga good for beginners?

Yes — there's little movement, so it's an easy entry point if the pace of a flow class feels like too much at first.

Will it feel uncomfortable to hold poses that long?

Mild sensation is normal and expected; sharp pain is not. Teachers show you how to use props so each hold stays within a comfortable range.

What if I'm not flexible?

Yin doesn't require flexibility — props do the work your body can't yet do, which is exactly the point of the practice.
