Sage & Sun Yoga Studio A quiet, intentional yoga practice for people who want to slow down.

Restorative Yoga in Austin

A fully supported, prop-heavy practice built almost entirely around rest — the gentlest class on our schedule.

A student fully supported in a restorative pose

Restorative Yoga asks for almost no effort at all. Every posture is fully supported by bolsters, blankets and blocks, so the body can rest completely rather than hold or stretch. It's often the first class we recommend to anyone who's stressed, recovering from illness or injury, or simply exhausted.

What We Offer

  • A 60-minute class of four to six fully supported postures
  • Generous use of props so no muscle has to hold its own weight
  • Dim lighting and quiet pacing throughout
  • Gentle guidance, with long stretches of silence to simply rest
  • A practice suitable during pregnancy, recovery or high-stress periods (check with your doctor first)

How to Book a Class

Reserve a spot through our online schedule like any other class. Because the room is kept quiet from the start, please arrive five to ten minutes early rather than slipping in once class has begun.

Pricing

A single Restorative Yoga class is $26. First-time students can book it for free, and regular students can lower the per-class cost with a class pack or membership.

Questions

Will I actually fall asleep?

It happens, and that's fine. The goal is deep rest, and a short nap mid-pose is not unusual.

Is this a good first class if I'm new to yoga?

It's one of our most approachable classes, since there's no strength or flexibility required — just a willingness to lie still.
